Biography
Ilya is a dedicated and industrious legal professional, renowned for his expertise in both torts and the Accident Benefits (AB) side of personal injury law. Admitted to the Ontario bar in 2020, Ilya skillfully blends his legal acumen with a profound passion for history.
His academic journey commenced at York University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a degree in History. During his undergraduate tenure, Ilya immersed himself in historical research, providing invaluable assistance to several professors in their academic endeavors. His unwavering commitment to academic excellence propelled him to the University of Windsor, where he obtained his Juris Doctor degree. At Windsor, Ilya actively engaged in law school associations, clinics, and moot court competitions, also showcasing his leadership abilities by coaching and leading law students in sports.
Following this, Ilya pursued a Master of Laws at Osgoode Hall Law School, shortly after earning his law degree. His early legal career encompassed a variety of experiences, including completing his articles of clerkship at a boutique firm in Mississauga, serving as an associate in multiple law firms in Markham and Toronto with a focus on family law and civil litigation, and assisting numerous clients through Legal Aid Ontario. During this period, Ilya adeptly represented clients at all levels of the Ontario court system.
Beyond the legal sphere, Ilya is a passionate reader, sports enthusiast, and martial arts aficionado. He is an avid soccer player and enjoys historical sword fencing. With fluency in English, Russian, and German, Ilya brings a unique multicultural perspective to his professional endeavors.
