Biography

Scott is a proud graduate of Laurentian University in Sudbury. Thereafter he attended Law School in Ottawa and graduated with an LL.B. in May of 2000. He was called to the Bar of Ontario in February 2002. After his call, Scott practised in Toronto. His practice is predominantly comprised of personal injury and insurance issues and has acted on behalf of both Plaintiffs and Defendants in these matters. He has recent experience with Jury Trials, further to his experience in the Superior Court of Ontario and other Courts, he has also appeared before the Financial Services Commission of Ontario as well as the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal. Scott is bilingual and is pleased to have returned to the Sudbury area in 2014, joining Weaver Simmons, and becoming a partner in 2017. He continues to practice on behalf of Plaintiffs and Defendants involving Insurance and other matters.

In 2021, Scott was appointed a Deputy Judge of the Ontario Small Claims Court. He has also been actively involved in legal education and mentorship, serving as a mentor with Toronto Metropolitan University since 2024 and coaching mock trial teams since 2023. He serves on the board of the Sudbury District Law Association and is a director of The Advocates’ Society.

In 2026, Scott returns to Kostyniuk & Greenside as counsel. He continues to practise in the areas of insurance and related litigation on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants.

Scott, having always had an interest in Alternative Dispute Resolution, has participated in numerous mandatory and private mediations and is now offering services as a mediator for all Ontario matters to help parties resolve insurance related disputes province wide.
