Nestor Kostyniuk

NESTOR E. KOSTYNIUK

Mr. Kostyniuk practices law at Kostyniuk & Greenside in Toronto. He graduated from the University of Windsor Law School in 1977 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1979. Mr. Kostyniuk became a Certified Specialist in Civil Litigation in 1992. In 2010, Mr. Kostyniuk served as President of the Toronto Lawyers Association. Mr. Kostyniuk is also a past chair of the Bar Dispute Resolution Group Forum. He is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, Canadian Defence Lawyers, and Toronto Lawyers Association, and he has concentrated in the area of insurance law since his call to the Bar. He appears regularly as counsel for Plaintiffs and Defendants at mediations and arbitrations, and also acts as counsel in Court proceedings throughout Ontario.

Derek Greenside

Mr. Greenside practices law at Kostyniuk & Greenside in Toronto. He graduated from The University of Western Ontario in 1985, and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1987. Mr. Greenside became a Certified Specialist in Civil Litigation in 1999. His memberships include the Law Society of Ontario, Toronto Lawyers Association and the Canadian Bar Association. Mr. Greenside has concentrated in the area of insurance law since his call to the Bar. He has considerable experience as counsel conducting Jury Trials and has appeared regularly as counsel on Mediations and Arbitrations at the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. He also appears regularly as counsel at private Mediations and Arbitrations.

Paul Belanger

PAUL BELANGER

Mr. Belanger is a partner at Kostyniuk & Greenside. He joined the firm as an articling student in 2002, after graduating from Osgoode Hall. Prior to law school, he completed a Bachelor of Arts, in Psychology, at York University. He was called to the bar in 2003. Mr. Belanger practices in all areas of insurance defence litigation, including personal injury, property damage, construction matters and motor vehicle accident benefits. He has devoted his career to the resolution of disputes through mediation, arbitration and trial, on behalf of various insurance companies. In addition, Mr. Belanger is active in the legal community, being a member of the Toronto Law Association, Canadian Defence Lawyers, Ontario Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association. Outside of the office, Mr. Belanger enjoys spending time with his two children, cooking, and travelling.

Gina Nardella

GINA NARDELLA

Gina Nardella is a partner at Kostyniuk & Greenside. She obtained her Law Degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2006 with a certificate in Litigation, Dispute Resolution and the Administration of Justice. She was called to the Ontario bar in 2007 after articling with Kostyniuk & Greenside. Since then, she has practiced in both civil and criminal litigation, having appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice, Superior Court of Justice, Financial Services Commission of Ontario, the Ontario Review Board and the Licence Appeal Tribunal. Michael White

MICHAEL WHITE

Michael White is a partner with Kostyniuk & Greenside where his practice focuses on defending product liability, insurance and municipal law claims. Michael's professional experience includes appearing as lead counsel in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice on both jury and judge alone trials. Michael has also represented clients in the Divisional Court, the Ontario Court of Appeal and at Arbitrations before the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. Michael is presently a Trustee of the Toronto Lawyers Association and a former executive member of the Ontario Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee. Michael obtained his B.A. from Queen’s University (1997), his LLB from the University of Windsor (2004) and his Certificate in Dispute Resolution from York University (2003).

Jennifer Cosentino

JENNIFER COSENTINO

Ms. Cosentino is a partner with the firm. Ms. Cosentino obtained her law degree from Sydney University in Australia in 2009. She returned to Toronto and received accreditation from the National Committee on Accreditation in 2010 and was called to the Ontario Bar in June 2012. She worked as a plaintiffs' lawyer for 2 years before joining Kostyniuk & Greenside in May 2014. Ms. Cosentino's practice is now focused on insurance defence litigation. She has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario and the Licence Appeal Tribunal. Her memberships include the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Bar Association, the Trial Lawyers Association and the Canadian Defence Lawyers. Ms. Cosentino is involved with student development program at the firm and co-chairs the firm’s Articling Program.

Jeffrey Pasternak received an Honours degree from the University of Guelph in Criminal Justice and Public Policy and then obtained a LL.B. from City University Law School in London, England. Jeff was called to the Ontario Bar in 2014 after completing his articles with Kostyniuk & Greenside. Jeff's practice focuses on all aspects of insurance defence litigation, including personal injury, occupier's liability and property claims. Surina Sud

SURINA SUD

Surina obtained her law degree from the University of Leicester in 2015. In 2013, she received an award for achieving the highest overall mark in a course (Civil Justice System) and was named the Most Valuable Player of the Women's Varsity Basketball Team. In 2014, Surina led the University's Pro Bono Committee as its Chief Officer. While Chief Officer, she founded and implemented "The Asylum Project", which assisted individuals seeking Asylum in the United Kingdom. Surina was called to the Bar in 2017 after completing her articles with Kostyniuk & Greenside. She has assisted at a jury trial and advocates for Plaintiffs and Defendants at all levels of Ontario Courts and Tribunals. Surina is an active member of the Canadian Defence Lawyer’s Young Lawyer’s Committee and the Toronto Lawyers Association’s Education Committee.

Sarah Fashin

SARAH FASIH

Sarah is an associate at Kostyniuk & Greenside, where she practices in the area of insurance defence with a primary focus on accident benefits and tort litigation. She advocates for clients at various levels of Ontario courts and administrative tribunals. She obtained a Dual J.D. degree from the University of Windsor and University of Detroit Mercy. While at law school, Sarah externed at the 36th District Court in Detroit, representing clients charged with misdemeanors and civil infractions. She also provided legal assistance to indigent clients at the Immigration Law Clinic and the Community Legal Aid Clinic. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2018, after completing her articles at a boutique plaintiff-side personal injury litigation firm. Christina Chiu

CHRISTINA CHIU

Christina Chiu is an associate at Kostyniuk & Greenside. Christina completed her Juris Doctor degree at the University of New Brunswick, where she was awarded the Abraham Walker Scholarship.

During law school, she devoted her time to Pro Bono Students Canada, where she focused on human rights advocacy of adults with disabilities.

Christina joined the firm after completing her articles at Kostyniuk & Greenside. While an articling student, Christina was successful in defending a major fast food chain at trial in Small Claims Court.

Christina practices primarily in insurance defence litigation. She has represented clients at both the License Appeal Tribunal and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.

Rajesh Mohan

RAJESH MOHAN

Rajesh Mohan is an associate at Kostyniuk and Greenside Lawyers whose main areas of practice are Tort Litigation and Accident Benefit Claims. Rajesh obtained his law degree from the prestigious University of London. He then attended Bond University where he completed his Practical Legal Training. He was shortly thereafter called to the Queensland Bar (Australia) in 2012 where he practiced in the area of Commercial litigation. Rajesh then made his move home to Toronto, where he was called to the Ontario Bar in 2015. In Toronto, he practiced Criminal Defence, building his craft of trial advocacy for half a decade. Rajesh recently returned to practice law in Toronto after gaining experience in Insurance Defence working in Vancouver, BC. After being called to the British Columbia Bar in 2020, He successfully first-chaired a trial as In-house counsel. Rajesh has appeared at multiple levels of court – including the Ontario Court of Justice, Superior Court of Justice, Federal Court, and Supreme Court of British Columbia.

Joe Kositsky

JOE KOSITSKY

Joe is an associate at Kostyniuk & Greenside whose practice focuses on tort, accident benefits and occupiers' liability claims. Prior to joining Kostyniuk & Greenside, he worked as plaintiff’s lawyer for several prominent personal injury law firms in Toronto. Joe received a B.A. in Anthropology from York University, subsequently obtained his LL.B. from the University of Ottawa, and was called to the bar in January 2015. Since that time, he has represented accident victims in wide array of personal injury matters such as motor vehicle accidents, long-term disability, occupiers' liability, dog bite injuries, medical malpractice, and sexual assault claims. He has appeared in the Superior Court of Justice and various tribunals including the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board, the Canadian Pension Plan, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, and the License Appeal Tribunal. Joe is involved in The Career Mentorship Program offered by Student Accessibility Services at York University. Career mentors are matched with students with disabilities to work together to facilitate career goals of the students. In his spare time, Joe enjoys spinning, playing drums, and spending time with his family at their vacation house in Florida.
