Nestor Kostyniuk

NESTOR E. KOSTYNIUK

Mr. Kostyniuk practices law at Kostyniuk & Greenside in Toronto. He graduated from the University of Windsor Law School in 1977, and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1979. Mr. Kostyniuk became a Certified Specialist in Civil Litigation in 1992. In 2010 Mr. Kostyniuk became the President of the Toronto Lawyers Association, in the same year the prestigious organization is celebrating 125 years. Mr. Kostyniuk is also a past chair of the Bar Dispute Resolution Group Forum. He is a membership of The Law Society of Ontario, and has concentrated in the area of insurance law since his call to the Bar. He appears regularly as counsel for Plaintiffs and Defendants at mediations and arbitrations, and also acts as counsel in Court proceedings throughout Ontario.

Derek Greenside

DEREK R. J. GREENSIDE

Mr. Greenside practices law at Kostyniuk & Greenside in Toronto. He graduated from The University of Western Ontario in 1985, and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1987. Mr. Greenside became a Certified Specialist in Civil Litigation in 1999. His memberships include the Law Society of Ontario, Toronto Lawyers Association and the Canadian Bar Association. Mr. Greenside has concentrated in the area of insurance law since his call to the Bar. He has considerable experience as counsel conducting Jury Trials and has appeared regularly as counsel on Mediations and Arbitrations at the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. He also appears regularly as counsel at private Mediations and Arbitrations.


Paul Belanger

PAUL BELANGER

Mr. Belanger is a partner at Kostyniuk & Greenside. He joined the firm as an articling student in 2002, after graduating from Osgoode Hall. Prior to law school, he completed a Bachelor of Arts, in Psychology, at York University. He was called to the bar in 2003. Mr. Belanger practices in all areas of insurance defence litigation, including personal injury, property damage, construction matters and motor vehicle accident benefits. He has devoted his career to the resolution of disputes through mediation, arbitration and trial, on behalf of various insurance companies. In addition, Mr. Belanger is active in the legal community, being a member of the Toronto Law Association, Canadian Defence Lawyers, Ontario Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association. Outside of the office, Mr. Belanger enjoys spending time with his two children, cooking, and travelling.


Gina Nardella

GINA NARDELLA

Gina Nardella is a partner at Kostyniuk & Greenside. She obtained her Law Degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2006 with a certificate in Litigation, Dispute Resolution and the Administration of Justice. She was called to the Ontario bar in 2007 after articling with Kostyniuk & Greenside. Since then, she has practiced in both civil and criminal litigation, having appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice, Superior Court of Justice, Financial Services Commission of Ontario, the Ontario Review Board and the Licence Appeal Tribunal. Her practice is now focused on insurance defence litigation.


Michael White

MICHAEL WHITE

Michael White is a partner with Kostyniuk & Greenside where his practice focuses on defending product liability, insurance and municipal law claims. Michael's professional experience includes appearing as lead counsel in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice on both jury and judge alone trials. Michael has also represented clients in the Divisional Court, the Ontario Court of Appeal and at Arbitrations before the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. Michael is presently a Trustee of the Toronto Lawyers Association and a former executive member of the Ontario Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee. Michael obtained his B.A. from Queen’s University (1997), his LLB from the University of Windsor (2004) and his Certificate in Dispute Resolution from York University (2003).


Geoffrey Keating

GEOFFREY KEATING

Geoff is a partner with the firm practicing in the area of insurance defence with a primary focus on accident benefits and tort litigation. He graduated from Bond University in Queensland, Australia in 2010, and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2013 after completing his articles with Kostyniuk and Greenside. He has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, and the Licence Appeal Tribunal. Geoff is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and proudly acts as co-chair for the firm’s articling program.


Jennifer Cosentino

JENNIFER COSENTINO

Ms. Cosentino obtained her law degree from Sydney University in Australia in 2009. She returned to Toronto and received accreditation from the National Committee on Accreditation in 2010 and was called to the Ontario Bar in June 2012. She worked as a plaintiffs' lawyer for 2 years before joining Kostyniuk & Greenside in May 2014. Ms. Cosentino's practice is now focused on insurance defence litigation. She has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario and the Licence Appeal Tribunal. Her memberships include the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Bar Association, the Trial Lawyers Association and the Canadian Defence Lawyers. Ms. Cosentino is involved with student development program at the firm and co-chairs the firm’s Articling Program.


Jeffrey Pasternak

JEFFREY PASTERNAK

Jeffrey Pasternak received an Honours degree from the University of Guelph in Criminal Justice and Public Policy and then obtained a LL.B. from City University Law School in London, England. Jeff was called to the Ontario Bar in 2014 after completing his articles with Kostyniuk & Greenside. Jeff's practice focuses on all aspects of insurance defence litigation, including personal injury, occupier's liability and property claims. He advocates for clients at various levels of Ontario courts including the Superior Court of Justice and Small Claims Court. Jeff is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Toronto Lawyers Association and the Canadian Defense Lawyers.


Raman Pandher

RAMAN PANDHER

Raman Pandher graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto. She then obtained her juris doctorate from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. She was called to the Ontario bar in June 2014, after completing her articles at Kostyniuk & Greenside. Raman's practice focuses on insurance defence litigation, specializing in accident benefits, priority disputes and loss transfer arbitrations. She has represented clients at the Small Claims Court and has made numerous Superior Court of Justice appearances. She has also successfully represented various insurers at the License Appeal Tribunal.


Surina Sud

SURINA SUD

Surina obtained her law degree from the University of Leicester in 2015. In 2013, she received an award for achieving the highest overall mark in a course (Civil Justice System) and was named the Most Valuable Player of the Women's Varsity Basketball Team. In 2014, Surina led the University's Pro Bono Committee as its Chief Officer. While Chief Officer, she founded and implemented "The Asylum Project", which assisted individuals seeking Asylum in the United Kingdom. Surina was called to the Bar in 2017 after completing her articles with Kostyniuk & Greenside. She has assisted at a jury trial and advocates for Plaintiffs and Defendants at all levels of Ontario Courts and Tribunals. Surina is an active member of the Canadian Defence Lawyer’s Young Lawyer’s Committee and the Toronto Lawyers Association’s Education Committee.

Michael Silver graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences from Queen’s University and a JD from Osgoode Hall Law School. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 2018, after completing his articles at Kostyniuk & Greenside Lawyers. Michael’s practice focuses on insurance defence litigation. He advocates for clients at various levels of court and various administrative tribunals. Michael is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Toronto Lawyers Association and the Canadian Defence Lawyers.


Sjawal Bhutta

SJAWAL BHUTTA

Sjawal Bhutta received a LL.B. Honours degree from Cardiff University in 2010. He then obtained a LL.M. from McGill University, and was called to the Ontario Bar after completing his articles with a boutique Personal Injury Litigation firm in Toronto. Sjawal's practice focuses on all aspects of insurance defence litigation, including personal injury, occupier's liability and property claims. He advocates for clients at various levels of Ontario courts including the Superior Court of Justice and Licence Appeal Tribunal. Sjawal is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Toronto Lawyers Association and the Canadian Defense Lawyers. Sjawal enjoys combat sports, swimming, bodybuilding, travelling and cooking in his spare time.


Joy Kohili

JOY KOHLI

Joy obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa in 2010. She completed her articles in her hometown of Ottawa at a full-service business law firm and was called to the bar in 2011. Prior to law school Joy obtained a Master of Arts in Legal Studies from Carleton University in 2008 and a Bachelor of Arts, High Honours, in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Carleton University in 2005. Joy practices in all areas of insurance litigation, including defending occupiers’ liability, personal injury, accident benefits and motor vehicle claims. In pursuing the interests of her clients, Joy has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Small Claims Court, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario and the License Appeal Tribunal. Joy is a member of the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, the Canadian Defence Lawyers, the Women’s Law Association of Ontario and The Toronto Lawyers Association.


Sarah Fashin

SARAH FASIH

Sarah is an associate at Kostyniuk & Greenside, where she practices in the area of insurance defence with a primary focus on accident benefits and tort litigation. She advocates for clients at various levels of Ontario courts and administrative tribunals. She obtained a Dual J.D. degree from the University of Windsor and University of Detroit Mercy. While at law school, Sarah externed at the 36th District Court in Detroit, representing clients charged with misdemeanors and civil infractions. She also provided legal assistance to indigent clients at the Immigration Law Clinic and the Community Legal Aid Clinic. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2018, after completing her articles at a boutique plaintiff-side personal injury litigation firm. Sarah is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Toronto Lawyers Association, Canadian Defence Lawyers, and Women’s Law Association of Ontario.


Rozlien

ROZLIEN BRIKHA

Rozlien is an Associate at Kostyniuk & Greenside, where her practice primarily focuses on insurance defence in the areas of tort litigation and accident benefits. She obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa in 2018. She was called to the Ontario Bar in June of 2019, upon completion of her articles at a plaintiff-side personal injury firm in Toronto. Rozlien is a member of the Toronto Lawyers Association. When she is not working, Rozlien enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and traveling.


Hyla Korn

HYLA KORN

Hyla graduated from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2010. Prior to attending law school Hyla obtained her B.A. (Hons) and M.A. in Religious Studies from the University of Toronto. She obtained a diploma from the University of Windsor/Stitt Feld Handy in Alternate Dispute Resolution. Hyla practises exclusively in the area of insurance defence litigation. Her practice focuses on the defence of motor vehicle claims, accident benefit claims and occupiers’ liability claims. She has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario and the Licence Appeal Tribunal. Hyla assisted with writing the Ontario Insurance Law and Commentary text and co-authored various articles relating to insurance law. She is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, Canadian Defence Lawyers and the Trial Lawyers Association.


Doha Tambal

DOHA TAMBAL

Doha is an associate at Kostyniuk & Greenside. Doha’s practice focuses primarily on insurance defence litigation. She obtained her Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto and her Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa. While in law school, Doha worked at a community legal aid clinic where she assisted clients with immigration and refugee law matters. Doha articled in-house at a national insurance company. She has advocated for client before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Small Claims Court, and the Ontario Court of Justice. Doha is committed to providing excellent client service.


Vicky Chan

VICKY CHAN

Vicky Chan is an associate at Kostyniuk and Greenside. Her practice focuses on insurance defence litigation. She articled at an insurance defence firm in Toronto and has experience in personal injury, business law and family law. Vicky obtained her JD from the University of Windsor and BCom (Hons) from Queen’s University. She was called to the Ontario bar in 2018. Vicky is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, Toronto Lawyers Association, Canadian Defence Lawyers and Christian Legal Fellowship.
